One of the great aspects of being financially free or simply financially stable is that you are enabled to be charitable with your money. Being able to bless others with your resources is easily one of the greatest things you can do for people in life.
I would encourage you, if you’re thinking about being charitable, to consider giving money directly to individuals in need as opposed to donating to an organization. By donating to an organization, you’re paying for overhead and other things so only a portion of your donation actually goes to the needy. While there are plenty of fantastic organizations, this is simply my personal preference. Consider finding local needy people through your church or through your contacts and perhaps life them up through the giving of your resources. It will surely be a wonderful experience.
Additionally, one of the great aspects of giving or tithing or that it helps you keep money in its proper place. It’s far too easy to get obsessed with money or wealth, and giving money regularly to those much less fortunate helps me remember that there are more important things in life than money.
