After installing the blog software, it’s time to design the “look & feel” of the site. The look & feel is primarily created by choosing and installing a Wordpress theme. Themes can be found all over the internet. You really don’t have to pay for a quality theme, as there are thousands of very nice free ones available across the web.
Most importantly, remember that your theme is not what will capture readers and provide for success. Your content will be the primary factor in determining how successful your blog will become. With that said, if you have an awful theme that turns people off, then the look & feel can definitely be an inhibitor to success.
Upload your chosen theme to the themes folder in the host directory, then login to the admin panel and activate the theme. Most themes work great out of the box, but if you want to make some minor adjustments or customize the theme to your specific needs, you can edit the theme files if you know html & php.
