In order to be a successful blogger and make money blogging, you need a specific niche. Simply put, it’s going to be tough to gain much traction with a baseball site, or a blog on the entertainment industry. You need to be more specific. Maybe you want to do a blog on fantasy baseball strategies. That could work.
If you don’t want to be too specific of a topic niche, then you could compensate for the broad topic by providing either a unique angle on the subject or an expert-like approach due to your intense knowledge of the subject.
It’s very tough to build a successful blog with broad based commentary on a subject that you don’t have too much knowledge about. The blogosphere is crowded and there are probably blogs on every subject you can think of. How do you plan to differentiate yourself and provide unique, valuable content?
Why would readers come to your website? If readers make their way to your website, how do you plan to convince them that they should come back and maybe even become a regular reader and visitor? These are very important questions to ask and if you don’t have answer to them related to your topic or niche, then you might want to go back to the drawing board. You should be willing to put in significant time and energy into the planning phases such as finding a niche, because it can very well determine the rate of success you achieve in blogging for money. Good luck.
