Finding some extra money can be a great help for your finances. It might help you boost your savings or even pay down your debt. Many of us, myself included, can be very unorganized and busy in life. As such, we can lose track of valuable things in our house. Let’s take a look at a few ways we might be able to find money.
Organize Your Loose Change
I have a big mug that I typically throw my change in when I get home each day. In addition to this, I sometimes end up having loose change in a few other areas such as my car’s cupholder and a drawer in the kitchen. The other day, I decided to put all the change together and count it up. The result was over $100. Instead of dump the change in one of those counting machines at the grocery store, I decided to roll the coins myself and not take an 8% charge. Not bad!
Sell or Donate Old Clothes
It’s amazing how many of us have a closet full of clothes, yet we typically wear regularly only a few items. It’s time to get organized and get rid of some of the clothes. You can take your clothes to a place like Good Will to donate them and get a tax credit or you can take them to one of the stores that actually buy your clothes. Either way, you will gain some space, be better organized, and maybe add a few dollars to your pocket.
Garage Clutter
A similar way to get method as the one I just descibed is to get rid of and sell some clutter in your garage. It is amazing what people keep in their garages. For example, I have a eisel to be used for painting sitting next to my weight bench. It never has and never will be used yet we figure its kind of nice and we don’t get rid of it. We need to sell it and other clutter in our garage. We could easily get a couple hundred bucks from the stuff that is taking up space in our garage and that we never use.
